The 20th lie-down concert at the iconic Wintercircus is a very special one.

Mattias Devriendt plays music all night long. And he's not doing it alone — he's bringing musical friends along.

All night long?? Yes you heard that right.

For the twentieth edition of the lie-down concert at Wintercircus, Mattias Devriendt is doing things differently. No 75-minute concert before heading home — on Sunday 24 May, you're welcome to simply stay lying down from 10pm to 7:00am in the heart of the Wintercircus Arena, wrapped in sound from every direction. The dome above your head, music all around you, and a night that slowly unfolds while the rest of the city sleeps.

Expect a night full of piano, spoken word, harp, cello, sitar, soundscapes and much more — a unique gathering of musicians, performers and surprises that take turns all night long, each one adding to the last. From opening concert to final note, with moments in between you never saw coming. Wim Helsen is one of them. Who else is coming? We'll tell you soon.

And when the night draws to a close and the first daylight filters through the Arena? Breakfast is waiting.

Lie-down concert?

On Sunday evening 24 May, pick one of the mats surrounding the grand piano in the iconic Wintercircus Arena in Ghent. Rest your pillow under your head, pull your blanket over you, and look up at one of the most beautiful roofs in the city. Everyone who walks into the Arena can't help but look up — and on this night, you'll have all the time in the world to do just that.

Expect a unique, uninterrupted musical journey where calm, tension, musical themes and dynamics carry you from evening to morning. Sound that surrounds you, silences you can feel, and a space that wraps around you like a blanket. A moment of connection — with the music, with the people beside you, and with yourself — in a world full of WhatsApp messages and Instareeltiktokstories.
