What to do in case of medical incident

In case of a medical incident, act quickly:


  • Stay with the person and assess if it's safe to help.

  • Send someone to guide help to the right entrance if needed.

  • Use the first aid kit or AED if the situation calls for it (see below).

First aid kits


First aid kits can be found on every floor:


  • At the blue reception desk

  • At the campus on every level, near the coffee corners

  • In every restaurant or bar


They contain basic supplies for minor injuries: cuts, burns, sprains. 
Look for the orange box mounted on the wall

AED (defibrillator)


An AED is a portable device that can restart a normal heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest, when someone collapses, is unresponsive, and isn't breathing normally.


  • When to use it: if someone collapses and shows no signs of normal breathing or response.  Every minute counts, using the AED early significantly improves survival chances.

  • Who can use it: anyone.  No training or certification is needed.  The device talks you through every step and won't allow a shock unless it detects one is needed. You cannot hurt someone by using it incorrectly.

  • Location: next to the glass lift at the Lammerstraat entrance.


In short: call 112 first, then send someone for the AED while you start CPR if you're able to.
